Many have made this gallery possible.
The photographers and models who provided the original images and inspiration. FIans who gave me an ego-boost by requesting my work. And the host of this site. You won't find all of their names on these pages but that doesn't lessen their contributions or my gratitude.
Our fascination with invisible women has been long pondered by it's devotees. We all have our own pet theories that are fun to debate as psychological exercise and personal introspection. But in the final analysis, for all practical purposes...it couldn't matter less. Whatever the reason(s), we just do.
Why these Invisualizations? That's simpler. They were either commissioned for specific purposes or I just did them for my own amusement.
Some of these pictures have been previously published on the internet; others have only been seen by the original commissioner and interested parties; the rest have never left my computer...until now.
Rather than "freshen" the images, I have decided to leave them as they were originally rendered. I make no excuse for some of the clunkier early efforts. They is what they is.
I have sized the I.V.s for convenient viewing within an average-sized frame. If you choose to download you will be able to view some in more detail. Larger versions, Befores, and Alternates exist for some and are available for the asking.
The majority of the Invisualized Women are partially visible. This was done for a couple of reasons beyond aesthetics. For example, when Dennard commissions a piece to tantalize a prospective performer for his shows, it makes sense to leave some of the woman visible so you can still actually see who she is. More practically, leaving the subject in a translucent state covers up any flaws in the revealed background. In some cases I will provide alternate versions of the pictures for comparison.
The first critical decision in doing an I.V. is picking good source material. In some cases, I was limited to only a couple photos from which to choose. This usually means more work and/or lesser quality of the finished product. Again, this is not offered as excuse, merely fact.
Please enjoy.
